Authors' Guidelines

Guidelines for Preparation of Manuscripts



Submissions:
Each manuscript must include a 200-word abstract. Articles are accepted only in MS-Word format. Submitted articles should strictly follow the format of the sample article. All submissions should include the JEL classification codes. There is no submission fee. Publication fee for each accepted article is $45 USD. Make check payable to the Journal of Accounting, Finance & Management Strategy (JAFMS). Articles for consideration should be submitted using the online submission form. However, if you have any questions regarding the submission process please send an email to thejafms@gmail.com to contact the editorial office. Papers must not have been published and must not be under consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts should be sent to thejafms@gmail.com.

Identification:
To maintain anonymity in the review process, only the title should appear on the manuscript. Attach a cover page with the following information: (1) the title of the manuscript; (2) the name(s) and institutional affiliation(s) of the author(s); (3) an address for correspondence; (4)a telephone/facsimile number and an e-mail address.

Abstract:
Manuscripts must include an abstract of approximately 120words that succinctly summarizes the key points on a separate page. Authors should also list two to five key words to identify the contents of their paper.

Typing:
Manuscripts should be double-spaced throughout (including all quotations and footnotes), and typed in English and French on single sides of paper. Generous margins on all sides of the page should be allowed for and pages numbered consecutively.

Equations:
Equations within the text should be centered on a separate line and numbered consecutively at the right margin in parentheses.

Tables and figures:
They should be prepared on separate sheets and placed at the end of articles. The author(s) should indicate the approximate locations where tables and figures are to be inserted in the text with a phrase such as “Inset Table 1 Here”. Each table and figure should be numbered Table 2:Fingure2, and so on. Tables should have brief descriptive titles and figures have explanatory captions.

Footnotes:
Notes should be marked clearly in the text by superscript numbers, and listed consecutively on a separate page titled "Notes" at the end of the article. They should not be at the bottom of the relevant page. The use of notes should be kept to a minimum.

References:
The reference list should include only the most relevant papers. In the text, references to publications should appear as follows: “Smith (1998) argued that…” or “This issue has been studied previously (e.g. Smith et al., 1981)”.All references should be alphabetized by author(s) last names(s) and preceded by sequential numbers, appearing on a separate sheet entitled “References”. References should appear as follows: (one for books, one for journals, and one for contributions to collective works)

Revisions:
If the Editors are of the opinion that an article provisionally accepted for publication needs to be shortened or particular expressions Deleted or rephrased, such proposed changes will be submitted to the author for approval prior to publication. Correction of errors in punctuation, spelling and style will not be submitted for approval if they do not alter the meaning or the sense of the original manuscript.

Magnetic copies:
When a manuscript is accepted, the author(s) should submit a file copy saved onto a 3.5 inch floppy disc. The file should be saved in the “Microsoft Word” format, and prepared on the A4 format paper. Alternatively, JAFMS will accept submissions by email, again using the above formats. If e-mail is used then documents should be sent unencoded to …@... A delivery confirmation will be sent on receipt of the e-mail.
